Eric McCormack
AKA Will Truman

After six seasons, six Golden Globe nominations, and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Eric McCormack feels he got to know his character on Will & Grace pretty well; “Will Truman has become so real for me, I actually worry about him,” says McCormack, “I’ll go to bed thinking, ‘I hope the poor bugger’s getting a little action.’”

Born and raised in Toronto, McCormack learned his craft at the Banff School of Fine Arts at Toronto’s Ryerson University. He spent five glorious seasons at the renowned Stratford Shakespearean Festival, and performed in regional theaters across Canada.

Since 1990, McCormack has appeared in dozens of series and made-for-television movies. Most memorable was his role as Col. Clay Mosby on “Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years.”

McCormack’s feature films include “Holy Man,” “Free Enterprise,” “Here’s to Life” and the upcoming independent film “The Sisters” opposite Maria Bello and Mary Stuart Masterson.

Very cool Eric stuff

In 2001, McCormack made his Broadway debut as Harold Hill in Susan Stroman’s acclaimed production of “The Music Man.” The upcoming Will & Grace soundtrack CD will feature “Living with Grace,” a song Eric co-wrote with Barry Manilow.

McCormack made his debut as a writer/director with the film short “Pirates,” and will soon be directing and starring in his own script in Disney’s “What You Wish For,” which he developed with his wife of many years, Janet Holden.

McCormack and wife Janet are most proud of their recent joint production, their son, Finnigan.

Lot's more to come to his site in the near future...

McCormack resides in Los Angeles. His birthday is April 18.
