|Occupy Los Angeles|
Today's headlines: "Productivity up in summer while labor costs fell"; "200+ arrested at Occupy Movement in Los Angeles, 50 arrested in Philadelphia"; "World's central banks act to ease market strains."
I have witnessed foreign governments oppressing their people and taking advantage of their power and position with a lack of transparency and a brutal police force many times over my 37 years. Unfortunately this time I'm observing it from my own front porch, as I realize our government isn't quit the star I was raised to believe. When our Federal Reserve is giving away $7 trillion dollars in loans and commitments, according to Bloomberg, (many of which will never be paid back) while sitting with their thumb firmly up their ass while our jobless rates continue to negatively affect millions of American families -- it can only be concluded that our government is no longer doing the people's work.
If you think about this a little further you begin to realize that our government may actually be perpetuating a high unemployment rate because of all the money they have given away to these foreign and domestic banks and corporations will cause ruinous inflation if the people also had money to spend and add to this global economy.
One of the best ways to control inflation is by controlling the amount of currency out in the world. If you are out of work you cannot possibly add any more money than a set amount for a limited time through unemployment. Would a government created to do for the people be involved in such a treacherous and insidious plan to "save" our economy for the 1%?
Most people may never understand that our current government is run by corporate oligarchs though legislative bodies such as the American Legislative Exchange Council and with hefty corporate campaign donations to ensure their candidates "represents" us in Washington. This does not mean you do not notice that your hard work isn't paying the bills any longer, but most of us simply feel overwhelmed and disgusted with our elected officials and what's happening on every block on Main Street to act. But fixing this gigantic problem is actually rather simple and completely in your co
|Not only do you have a vote for whom actual gets elected...every dollar you spend is also a vote.|
Not only do you have a vote for whom actual gets elected to Congress and the White House, every dollar you spend is also a vote. Every dollar you spend is either a vote for the corporate oligarchs currently destroying your life and the lives of your loved ones, or for local business people creating beneficial products for you and your community?
Buying something at Wal-Mart which is made in China by a supposedly U.S. corporation not only shows your lack of taste in quality products, but is a vote that your job here at home isn't important and you don't mind working longer hours for less money, less "benefits", and a crap life.
Eating some squirrel meat burger from a corporate fast food place like McDonalds or Taco Bell is not only a vote for the continuation of your fat shelf ass, but also a vote for genetically grown crops of cancer causing lab food and the continuation of massive and brutal animal cruelty.
Common sense is free and doesn't require an education from Harvard, but you do need to ask yourself a few questions. 'Is what that politician proposing good for me?' 'Is buying this product really important, more important than the future of my daughter or son?' 'Should I sacrifice when my government is splurging?' 'Does this law or piece of legislation benefit my community?'
Just by asking yourself and honestly answering those basic questions is your best bet towards voting in people-first-politicians and creating a country fit for 99% of us again.
