Paris Hilton | In May 2005, Carl's Jr. introduced its "Spicy BBQ Six Dollar Burger" in a television ad, which features Hilton Hotel heiress Paris Hilton in a provocative swimsuit soaping up a Bentley automobile and crawling all over it before taking a big bite out of the burger and giving her signature phrase, "That's hot." | Photo: Archives | Related: Paris Hilton, sex video, reality, Carls Jr. |

Paris Hilton.
Kim Kardashian. Their names alone arouse thoughts of sex and money. Their images sell everything from perfumes to magazines: young, beautiful, sexy, smart, and rich. They both have names that are bankable, extremely bankable. And they know how to work this to their (and their families) advantage. But who is more overexposed? Who have we had enough of?
Paris Hilton is the great-grand daughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of the Hilton Hotels. She is a socialite, and as a result of capitalizing on her less than stellar behavior and antics, now a fairly successful business woman. It seems to be that any press is better then no press for Paris Hilton. Reality shows, public appearances, and of course lets not forget her sex tape, have made her a popular topic of conversation in all forms of media, especially the internet.
Kim Kardasian is the daughter of famed O.J. Simpson lawyer, Robert Kardashian. She grew up in a posh suburb of Los Angeles like Paris Hilton. The two women are roughly the same age and at one point were friends.
I think its safe to say the media may be oversaturated with news pieces about these two women. There has been something about either one of them in the tabloids for years; from Paris' much publicized jail sentence in 2007 to Kim Kardashian's recent 72 Day marriage., which was aired on TV for millions of dollars. The thing to remember is that Paris was the trend setter, the model for the kind of self-promotion that so many other C-list celebrities and realit

y TV stars now embrace as their road to stardom. And Kim, well Kim is copy cat who has not only branded herself fantastically, but her family as well.
Just as Kim Kardashian is seen as a media whore today, so too was Paris Hilton at the height of her "popularity". The difference with current "Kim overexposure" is that so much of the media is now internet-based and information is spread much, much faster. Perhaps overexposure may not be the best term when describing the Kardashian clan. I think oversaturation is more apt. Paris self promoted herself, while Kim is part of the Kardashian empire.
Popularity and relevance in Hollywood comes and goes in waves. One day you are in and the next day you are out. Those who stay in the news, or those who stay relevant, are products of how successfully their publicists or managers are able to spin their actions. The Kardashian Family and the Hilton's represent a fantasy or ideal of what people want. They are the Cleopatra and the Marie Antoinette of modernity.
