Monica has been asked to guest lecturer at New York City’s famed Fashion Institute of Technology and a host of conferences and speaking engagements. Amid an active speaking calendar, Monica works as an external consultant for Neiman Marcus to provide fashion insights related to customer experiences; was selected to be part of Vogue Magazine’s elite Influencer Network; and is one of only 300 Alpha Shoppers for Lucky Magazine, a group of socially networked individuals who are style influencers and fashion trendsetters.
Monica contributed to several online media outlets including writing about fashion trends and travel for Uptown Social, the e-dossier for Uptown Magazine and for MyJet247, the online media presence for Jet Magazine. She is currently writing about being fashionable yet fiscally responsible as the Fashion/Style Editor for MyBlogalicious; writing about style trends that are geared toward plus sizes at Plus Size Glitz, answering fashion and style questions through the AskStyle segments as a contributor to MyStyle, the Fashion & Beauty website for The Style Network; giving DC-specific insight for The Washington Post’s TheRootDC; and contributing matrimonial style insights for Black bag Bridal. She has also been written up in Jet Magazine, Uptown Magazine and The Washington Post; and is one of the main stylist for Shoe Dazzle, an initiative that involves Kim Kardashian.
In addition to her writing contributions, Monica has worked directly with several notable personalities including Helena Andrews, author of Bitch Is The New Black, and Sophia Nelson, best-selling author of Black Woman Redefined. The work has varied from book cover photo shoot direction to book tour styling expertise.
