A mixture of ex-military and modern day hippie, Brett Moore is always a bit off kilter, always in search of balance. A peacenik on one hand, Brett loves a good argument even if it means playing devil's advocate. Unabashedly liberal, Brett possesses a passion for standing up for the little guy.
A classically trained chef and graduate of the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, Brett has worked for over a decade as an executive chef. His first love is food, of course - growing it, cooking it, eating it. Discovering the next perfect meal is his mission in life.
Brett is a writer and a freelance journalist. He currently works as the feature editor of his city newspaper and is the gourmet food editor for About.com. Whether it's arguing politics or advocating for the homeless, Brett is serious and passionate about the issues he writes about. When not buried in his next story or cooking for dinner guests, Brett chooses to spend his free time exploring the great outdoors with his family or running through the river with his two dogs.
Brett Moore holds degrees from the New England Culinary Institute in Culinary Arts and also Restaurant Food & Beverage Management. He has also earned a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Nebraska.
