Shannon met her first and only boyfriend during her freshman year in high school. She went to college and started paying off her student loans. After what seemed like a lifetime in the news and publishing industry, she got married and started teaching English to high school seniors, which qualifies her for sainthood. One autistic daughter and a bunch of political bureaucracy later, she now spends her time as an educational consultant and contributes pieces to this and other publications.
