"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
It is around these immortal words spoken by Coco Chanel that writer, Jamie Pack, has based her fashion ideology. While she can often be found sporting a dress, Jamie has learned that the true meaning of fashion goes beyond the clothes she wears. Growing up with a family on the go and having spent many of her formative years in three major metropolises, Jamie believes that fashion is dictated by people while style is dictated by the individual. She enjoys writing about all aspects of fashion from high end designers to how to look fabulous on a budget. When it comes to style, she enjoys connecting the dots between how individuals see themselves and what they choose to put on their bodies.
When it comes to her own personal style, Jamie has always been inspired by timeless fashion. She is a student of classic style icons, both old and new, ranging from screen sirens of old to England's modern day princess. She puts her own spin on things and firmly believes that grace and confidence are just as important as heels and pearls. Of course, her Southern Belle roots have greatly impacted her Steel Magnolia attitude, and she tries to infuse a little down home charm in with high brow elegance.
Jamie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Presbyterian College in South Carolina and has since moved on to bigger and better things. She is currently pursuing her MA at Belmont University in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. While completing her studies in writing and linguistics, she is able to keep her thumb on the pulse of Nashville culture and fashion. She works as a freelance editor and also contributes to several online magazines, including a local site that aims to blend charity and style. When Jamie is not writing (or doing graduate school work), she can be found playing her eighty-year-old piano, exploring the city with her husband and two-year-old Border Collie, or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen.
