As a journalist and editor, I have experience pitching stories, fact checking, copy-editing, researching the Internet and managing a team of writers. I have been employed by several publications that have helped diversify my writing and shape my impression of fashion, music, and pop culture.
I posture a great aptitude for learning and Evil Monito Magazine has enabled me to use my graduate schooling, incorporating academic and media research into my work. I realize social media is imperative, as bloggers and other media forums purvey ideas designed to innovate and market trends. Evil Monito has cultivated this knowledge for me.
For several seasons, I wrote for POOLTRADESHOW Magazine and worked closely with the publicist as her assistant. This was a perfect opportunity for me to meet editors, as well as tastemakers.
Writing for Vapors Magazine was a completely different experience. Vapors appeals to an urban demographic and my writing drew in a young, pop-savvy audience.
In addition, I recently accepted a contributing writing position at Dossier Journal, focusing on fashion and music-related stories and California Apparel News, where I focus on technology apparel.
