My name is Taryn Nakamura, but for the first two weeks of my life, I had no name. Sometimes inspiration is whispered into a mother’s ear by the angel Gabriel, and other times, it is delivered through a divine phone message. I am named after an office receptionist. During my brief stint as a common noun (“the baby”), I compensated for proper noun deficiency by learning to love language a little too much.
Born and raised in Hawaii, I've recently returned home after receiving a B.A. in English at Yale University. In my free time, I like to run at walking pace, make fun of people who bowl, and eat pickles.
