Nivedita Gunturi is a medical intern and freelance writer currently based in Chicago. After receiving a B.A. in English from Tufts University, she is now wrapping up her medical studies and is preparing for a residency in internal medicine.
She is the co-founder of Sangam India (www.sangamindia.org), a non-profit group dedicated to improving living conditions for the urban poor in the slums of Chennai, India.
When she's not in the hospital, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen, in a coffee shop reading anything from the Economist to Herman Hesse, or writing about music, art, books and food. Or other random things.
She hopes to bring her passion for writing and her dedication to medicine together to work towards social change and justice in health care.
You can see her writing on MuzikReviews, eBurban, MVremix, the California Literary Review, and Eatology.
Follow her on her blog or on twitter!
