Paige Sykes was born in Deep South Mississippi to a “Yankee” mother who first exposed her to the struggles of a single parent and the ability to move mountains on your own. Paige left her roots as fast as her feet would run after grad school but has always felt the guilt of abandoning the state she still calls home.
By trade, Paige is a Clinical Supervisor working in short intensive bursts with children and families struggling with a variety of afflictions. The rest of the year she wanders from country to country still trying to decide what she wants to be when she grows up. Those feet wandered Israel for several years before settling back into the states of New England. It wasn’t long before she was off again, and she now dwells in Central America.
Politically she teeters. Paige has registered to vote in both red and blue parties but currently resides in a household consisting of a Conservative Republican and a Liberal Democrat. This makes for interesting conversations, arguments, and broken dishes. She does, though, look at politics from the eyes of her past, through the families she’s helped, and in the perspective of what she’s learned in her travels.
